Is it true that Google bans rooted Android devices from using Android Pay?
Yes but you're not missing much as the service is hit or miss. With a few searches you can find ways around the ban but it is likely not worth the trouble.
Yeah, but most places don't even have Android Pay terminals, and the few that do tend to be wonky about proper readings. Not to mention there's already Google Wallet which works better and is more widely accepted.

Google killed off the Wallet card.

Yes. Same for iPhones also.
Does android pay exist in the UK yet? I've never seen a terminal, only contactless and apple pay.
>>57339052
Yes.

Yeah they ban all devices with unlocked bootloaders.

Really? I do my weekly shop in there and I swear it only says apple pay. Maybe it's just not in my area yet.
>>57339230
Most places that support Apple Pay also support Android Pay as they fundamentally use the same technology.
>>57339052
If your phone has NFC you can use android pay with any contactless terminal which is basically every shop in my city.
>>57338592
I can't use Android Pay in Canada even though we have NFC terminals everywhere, fucking bullshit

Really? I haven't rooted my phone in over 4 years, but holy shit, that sucks.
>>57338592
what is even android pay and why are you using an android with google stuff on it?
>>57338836
>most places don't even have Android Pay terminals
My bank doesn't even support Android Pay.
>>57339052
It uses the same terminals as standard contactless cards. So basically most places.
Question is, is it easier to get your contact less card out of your pocket, or you phone, given that you have to unlock it.
And look like a prick.
>>57344127
Right? Gee do I tap the card I'm programmed to get out of my wallet to the terminal or fumble with my phone while everybody calls me a wanker?
>putting your payment information on someone else's computer
>implying NFC payment is as widespread as apple and google make it seem

Pay in the store with your NFC-enabled phone. No more credit cards. Just like Apple Pay.

But what about my store specific bonus cards?
>>57339178
>with bootloaders
Yeah, they added this recently. I can't really explain the whole process but I followed a post as a OP3 owner and have sultan's ROM with android pay still working. I cannot justify going onto that since Google could fix this workaround within literally the next 5 minutes.

Banks in my country have their own implementation of nfc payments through their separate apps, and they couldn't care less if your phone is rooted. Not sure why you would want to do it through a third party implementation, but there you go.

You lose all cash and can't get it back.

If you have that much cash that you would care about getting mugged so much, why not move to a country where that doesn't happen?
