I'll be in the US in a couple of months, and I wanted to take the opportunity to buy some parts for upgrade.
Where do you guys get your parts, physically? I'll be in NY for less than a week, can't really order them by mail.
>>57330395
craigslist

Yup. The only best place is craigslist. Try Goodwill mate or some thrift shop if you can find decent enough things.

I guess that's better than going to bestbuy or walmart.
>less than a week
>can't mail
US mail takes like 4 days MAX for free shipping
Generally always next day or the day after if you pay for shipping which is generally $5 or so
>>57330395
micro centre.

Do they deliver to hotels? I'll know where'll I'll be in a month or two, but I won't be staying there during the day, I'll be sightseeing and stuff.
>>57331538
do you have a buddy you can order shit to?
>>57331133
Umm no. 5 days minimum for free shipping.
>>57331538
Yes hotels will save your mail. Be sure to notify them first and confirm. "I have a very important business thing-whatever coming" etc. Unless you are staying at the roach motel.

I guess? Never really asked him to do stuff like this. Don't think I want to intrude like that. Most we did was gift each other steam games long time ago.
>>57331628
it's not intruding at all just be like hey man only gonna be here a few days can I order a package to your address
>>57331583
>>57331608
Ok. So I should place my order a couple of days before the trip, and give the hotel address and that's it.
Hardware pricing here is so high it looks down to Snoop Dog.
Amazon is usually fair enough.
Buy prime for $12 I think for 1 month.
Mail the parts in multiple orders to an Amazon Locker with free 2 day shipping.

Looking into that now. Seems like a good deal.
Prices between microcenter and amazon don't vary that much.
Thanks!

Microcenter has really good CPU prices (if someone's higher they price match). If you buy a mobo at the same time you get 40 extra off as well.
