The first jet fighter flew only 36 years after the Wright brothers made their historical first flight. Is there any modern technology that has advanced at a similarly astounding rate?

Home computing? It's only been 39 years since the first home computers were introduced to the market and now I'm typing this on a smart phone connected to 4g. The World Wide Web was invented only 12 years after the first home computers were introduced, which is even more crazy to me than the fact that it's been 39 years since home computers became a thing. It seems that when a new technology is introduced, it develops very fast for a while then development slows way down, like how militaries today still use lots of 40 year old jet fighters, but 40 years ago no militaries used planes from the 1930s, which was 40 years ago to them.

LEDs - only 31 years between the first useable LED and the first bright blue/white LED in 1993.
Also no CDs, BDs etc. without LEDs.
When the wright brothers made their first plane, engines were already both light and powerful enough to power it
So that's a huge fucking jump in research that they didn't do
Jet engines are actually fairly simple (you can make your own functioning jet engine with a sheet metal tube and a flamethrower) they just needed to be made well
And wil several huge wars putting the entire world against each other to make bigger and badder war machines, it's not surprising really
