looking for a decent laptop with quick swappable battery, which ive only come across one: the lenovo t440s, however it has no discreet gpu and id like to do some moderate-light gaming.
been offered a job which involves mainly sitting in the car for over 8 hours, looking for a solution to power a laptop for that long, power generators have proven too expensive so i thought i may just buy3 extra batteries but lo and behold apparently companies dont make swappable batteries anymore.
anyone have suggestions? ive also looked at the dell 7559, which has a 960m and supposedly great battery life but under gaming load ive heard someone say it only lasts an hour, anyone can say otherwise?
cheers anons.
swappable batteries are a still a thing?
Thinkpads were never meant for gaming. The best you can get are the Iris Pro models, or the ones with the NVIDIA 720m, but afaik these weren't sold in North America.
About powers, Lenovo sells a cigarette lighter charger, else you can get an inverter and use the regular power brick

T460p may have a gpu.
Maybe the P/W series, not sure if those are hot swappable.
no laptop will last 8 hours under gaming load unless you get like 6 extra batteries
your best bet is finding a way to make car charge the laptop

found one so far, although if it had a discreet gpu it would of been perfect. im essentially looking for a way to power a laptop inside a car.

yeah ive been looking at inverters also, however im abit uncertain as to how to use it. wouldnt the car need to be running to draw large amounts of power like that? else the cars battery would go flat wouldnt it?

wont need to last a whole 8 hours but a good 4-5 hours would suffice.

A laptop charger is at most 90w, it wont suck more than that. It would take several hours to drain the battery completely

yeah if you aren't a complete cuck and bought a thinkpad

Fujitsu Lifebooks can be configured with a secondary battery in the optical/hard drive/pico projector bay.
Also 'discreet' means 'unobtrusive, unnoticable'. The word you meant to use was 'discrete'.
DIY 2x car 12V lead bat in the trunk?
24v to 19v should be easy as fuck, no?
these things are 40Ah and cost only a lil over the cost of a laptop battery

>T460p
Ow lawd, why must you tempt me.

you are a fucking idiot op
you have an engine in a car that is producing KILLOWATTS of waste heat
you have electrical wiring and a cigarete lighter - all you have to do is transfor that 12v into ~ 19volts and you can do it for 20 dollars on ebay.... you just might have to solder a power pplug but then you havent told us the model so we cant help
and then because you dont have enough intitiave to look on the back label and see what voltages you lap does run off you want to but 3 lithium power packs ??? that is the most god damn overpriced solution i have ever heard off - just kill yourself op.
