Feels like my eyesight has been restored after years of abuse. I have been living in hell with horrible font rendering and scaling on Windows.
I don't know man, I've veen using Luvuntu for the past few days and font rendering is vlurry as fuck

It is the compositor. Unity has Compiz and only thing close to it Compton but it has glitches in Xubuntu which are annoying.
You should install Compiz or switch over to Unity.
>false flagging this hard

>good font rendering
nice meme

I'd rather kill myself instead, enjoy your tablet interface.

Tabletesque. It functions nothing like a tablet UI .

The inconsistent UI is enough to kill me with OCD. I have a Windows 10 machine next to me and the difference in rendering is very obvious.

Can you still not list the installed applications? Like do you still have to actually know the application name and search for it in the Unity menu?
>>57296674
Isn't Compton a fork of Compiz though?
>>57296641
Now try running any industry standard software natively :^)
>>57296795
Not sure but it provides similar results for Xfce which has horrible screen tearing. Even when using Firefox/Chrome you experience screen tearing and rendering issues. Major flaw is that it requires editing config files and has no GUI.
Unity/Compiz everything works flawlessly OOB without any tweaking by the user. It is easier to manage with Compiz Config GUI.

If I need professional touch I would buy a Mac. I am the run of the mill faggot with simple needs like LibreOffice, MPV and some games which can run on Wine.
>>57296827
Any good sources on where to fix these issues? I'm actually running Xfce with Compton and I can confirm this.
>>57296795
I'm pretty sure comptons a fork of xcompmgr not compiz.
>>57296756
Don't you realize Windows 10 NEEDS to be inconsistent? That's how you can distinguish between different open windows, since it was designed so terribly and monotone you wouldn't be able to tell what's going on on your screen if it weren't so inconsistent.

go to the software center, then hit the 'installed' tab. I don't like it either but there's a way.
>>57296904
Some people have posted their personalized Compton config files. Google Compton config and pick one.

Software center on 16.04 is vastly improved. Like Windows control panel, you can add/remove applications without touching terminal.

That's because they ditched the old one and forked gnome software center.
