I steal open source code and add it to my proprietary projects. Is there any risk of getting caught?

perhaps
If your proprietary software competes with the open source version it's trivial to compare binaries and find matches for identical compiler symbols.
Changing variable names doesn't change anything because they still compile down to the same machine code.
The only way to avoid this would be to heavily rewrite the open source code to the point where it no longer resembles the original, but at this point, you might as well write it from scratch.
i dont know
If it doesn't make you a huge amount of money then nobody cares
Probably yeah, but if their license allows it you're fine family.
Also, Putin should've have been in the foreground of this picture - not that silly girl.

If you don't mind the performance loss you can obfuscate control flow and make this difficult
>>57291097
If it runs slower than the open source version, why would anyone use your proprietary trash?
Can you repeat the question?
>>57291034
if you offer it via web interface then you can steal anything you like
YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME NOW
AND YOU'RE NOT SO BIG

Muh ecosystem and interface

so you're providing actual value by the way of a rich featureset
If you're capable of that, why would you bother stealing open source code?
>>57291034
This is why software piracy is a good thing.

Misnomer unless you're actually murdering people at sea.
