Go into BIOS and check do a SSD scan.
>>
Buy a AMD GPU and your PC will never have to freeze again
>>
dumb /v/ermin
>>
>>57268133
Don't believe there is any option for that on Asus Maximus mobos.

Other SATA ports detect my SSD except for the one I've been using it for the longest (SATA6G_1). The SATA above it (SATA6G_1) won't detect/recognize the SSD either.

Why did those two ports stop recognizing my SSD but not the mechanical ones?
>>
>>57267918
Okay OP. I am now home.

Please tell me your PC specs and the OS you were using at the time.
>>
>>57268191
Okay the SSD isn't being recognized at all now

You cut the power to an SSD in full flight. Enjoy.
>>
Your SSD driver got corrupted.

Download the driver from a different computer and install it with a usb
>>
>>57267918
Gift it to me on Amazon (or buy me $70 worth of shit on my wishlist) and I'll actually do my best to help your filthy weeb ass out.
>>
Download the arch linux live iso
Boot up in it
Type in the following command:
Replace the X with the number containing your OS
The number can be found by doing fdisk -l
 dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdax

Sometimes when you shutdown windows like you probably did it leaves a bunch of flagged sectors at the boot partition, you need to reset those flags to 0 so you can boot

Here
Don't do this >>57268410, it'll wipe your drive
Hope that proves I'm not memeing
>>
>>57268410
What this guy said

But Lubuntu/Debian Netinst instead of Arch, and GParted instead of fdisk -l.
>>
>>57268270
What brand are the SSDs?
>>
>>57268329
How? BIOS won't recognize SSD. How do I update drivers if it's not even detected.
>>
>>57268490

You don't need BIOS to recognize a device for you to install drivers for it
>>
>>57268410
>>57268481
These guys are fucking with you, use systemrescuecd, it's much better.
>>
>>57268483
Crucial, I don't remember the model but it's 200 gb
>>
>>57268554
What I'm guessing is that your mechanical drives are nothing more than backup drives and they don't have an OS, right?

Try flashing your bios to default.
>>
>>57268604
>Crucial MX100 256GB

I don't think flashing my BIOS will make it recognize the SSD.
>>
Try changing UEFI settings, secure boot on/off, CSM on/off, legacy mode on/off. Or switch sata type, ITE/AHCI. My mb wouldn't recognize my SSD with UEFI on.
>>
>>57268842
Why would running roguekiller to scan for shit disable my BIOs settings though
>>
>>57268870
No clue but my friends pc had a similar scenario after installing windows updates. Give it a go, if that doesn't work clear bios cmos by pulling the battery or mb jumpers.
>>
did you try unplugging the ssd and plugging it back in again as well as reseating the cmos battery
>>
>>57268979
Fuck off back to /v/ fucktard
>>
>>57267918
these guys are gonna be assholes. here's what you do:
connect your sata power to your ssd BUT NOT THE SATA CABLE
JUST THE POWER CABLE
JUST THE POWER CABLE
got it?
now power on your computer and go into bios, let it just sit like that for awhile, several hours. Then turn it off completely, flip the switch on your power supply or remove the power cord to your psu. leave it overnight. Come back the next morning and repeat. do this two days in a row.
then hook everything back up and it should be recognized.
SSD has a failsafe and that's how you activate it, by power cycling it with no data connected.
if you look up the make and model of your ssd it may have a shorter power cycle, but since you haven't given me a model I can't know how long that should be.
>>
>>57267993
OP is based af if he does this
>>
>>57269023
See >>57268675
>>
>>57268325

This. That has up to 13% chance of bricking the SSD depending on the brand.
>>
>>57268999
trips of truth

/v/tards get the fuck out and never return
>>
>>57268042

>>
>>57269084
What was OP supposed to do? Let it remain frozen?
>>
>>57267918
>>57269078
ah thank you :3 I did not bother scrolling down.
this >>57269023 is still the right answer, but you don't have to wait that long. see here:
http://forum.crucial.com/t5/Crucial-SSDs/Why-did-my-SSD-quot-disappear-quot-from-my-system/ta-p/65215

what do you play on steam :3
>>
>>57269173
I only play Civ nowadays, rip.

In that link, it didn't say anything about the SATA cable being connected. Right now I've plugged in the SATA power cable only, I also turned off the supply and turned it on. Do I boot my PC and let it idle in BIOS for 20 minutes now?
>>
>>57267918
at least let me know if it works OP, you have contact info?
>>
>>57269151

>open case
>trigger compulsory shutdown on every HDD and SSD
>when they're all turned off just cut the power

Are you really this computer illiterate?
>>
>>57269292
>http://forum.crucial.com/t5/Crucial-SSDs/Why-did-my-SSD-quot-disappear-quot-from-my-system/ta-p/65215
ah no disregard what I said and follow their instructions exactly. I had another brand just recently do this and their power cycle required you to disconnect the sata cable.
>>
Install a version of linux. Doesn't matter. Download windows iso and replace linux with windowed

Ez
>>
>>57269322
Alright will do, thanks. One question though, when I'm in BIOS, I can't shut my PC off from there... it restarts. Wat do?
>>
>>57269371

restart it but cut the power on the exact moment, at least that's what I do
>>
>>57269371
don't do this>>57269401
just power it off with the power supply switch or unplug your power supply.

I've turned it off and on three times but it's not getting recognized.. do I need to have my PC running in BIOS or is it enough with the power supply being on only?
>>
>>57267918
Buy a Mac.

How can I contact you to get my game?

Update: it's recognized by the SATA port furthest down but won't get recognized by any other port

Install Sentoo
>>
>>57271450
reset your motherboard to default settings now that it's recognized :3

Your SSD is dead. If you recently bought it, it was defective.

I had the same problem with Crucial MX100 SSD. Turned out to be a well known firmware bug. Returned it and got mx200 instead.
>>
>>57271572
Reminder that I was the first person to tell you to flash your BIOS to default.
>>
>>57271970
reminder that power cycling the SSD was what brought it back to life :3

ahahhaha i don't care, it'd be nice but OP never delivers on this kind of thing anyways -_-
