What TV does /g/ use?

You guys have never steered me wrong before, and I'm in the market for a new television. All I'll be doing with it is streaming my desktop on to it, so I don't need any of this smart TV roku shit.

I use a 48" RCA (as my monitor >:3c) that I picked up for $300. I can't believe people don't use massive flat screens instead of monitors more often, I could never go back.

i went to a tv store and the samsung 4k curved hdr display literally looked like a window to look out of. it looked more real than i thought it ever could. i thought someone had made a mockup display until i saw the pictures moving. its beautiful. and it only costs £1500 or something like that. TVs got a lot cheaper nowadays, nothing in the store was more expensive.
>>
Sony WEGA Trinitron CRT. It's the Thinkpad of TVs.
>>
>>57256782
Since I'm not an American and not gramps I don't use a TV. I had some Samsung's plasma TV in 2006.
>>
50'' UHD LED Samsung, it's apparently a smart tv as well but there's no point on using all those functions when my phone can do exactly the same shit but faster, it might not be a 4k TV though, or I just don't know how to use it, the max resolution my computer, ps4 and bluray can output with it is 1080p even though the box says otherwise, at least it does 60 fps/hz smoothly.

I only bought it because it had 3 USB and 3 HDMI ports, one av and one component, my old big ass bulb TV shat itself a month ago so I couldn't play vidya on it anymore.

I have a 70" Vizio in the living room and the old Sony 46" in the bedroom.
Both nice TVs. All the smart shit works great on the Vizio and it's picture is really nice.
I'm avoiding the 4k stuff for now.

>>
>>57258457
What's your budget, how far away will you be sitting from the display
>>
>>57256782
I feel like you need a projector to properly go 4k at this point. The tv's are all too small.
>>57257037
Go be yuropoor somewhere else. Plasma's were objectively superior at everything except performance in bright light and power consumption.
>>
>>57258531

in 2001. Dont forget the weight, you need twenty persons to carry your 50" plasma.

I have a Vizio smart tv and it is the second-worst device I've ever owned. At least I got it for dirt cheap.
When I use it, about 1 in 3 times it will refuse to shut off. (Not a remote problem - other buttons work and the power button on the back of the TV also fails at the same time.)
The smart features are completely worthless and get in the way even if I don't want to use them.
It broadcasts an unsecured wifi network even though I've turned off every smart feature I could, I don't use an RF remote, and I haven't allowed it to connect to my actual network.
Recently, certain settings have stopped working: when I try to lower the brightness, it just rapidly switches between 99 and 100.

That being said, any good 1080p TVs out there that are decent for gaymes, i.e. less input lag and good refresh rates? I sometime play them on the bed or when I have little to no friends over.

I use a basic 32 inch Samsung. It was 200 dollars at best buy. I'm thinking about upgrading but this one works well.
>>
>>57258922
There's no such thing as a tv with decent input lag. You have to buy a big monitor.
>>
>>57258966
You would think that more manufacturers would please gaymers in $CURRENT_YEAR with how big that shitty industry is. Then again, they can't get anything right except make local memes like 3D, HDR, effective refresh rate, smart bullshit, OLED, etc.

>>
>>57258982
It's inherent to the SOC's in tvs.

A monitor assumes the math is being done by a device downstream and is designed accordingly.
>>
sony xbr 850c. its 4k, nice thing though is the panel is 120hz, so you can shove 1080p at 120hz thru it for gaming.

>>57259034
Just like every current jewkikery-laden panel.

>>
Anyone fall for the OLED meme? I'd love for them to get cheaper so buy them goys.
>>
>>57259052
Only when they reach plasma levels at the price plasmas were commanding.

The biggest issue is frame retention and not blinding people with blues.
>>
>>57259034
a few of the 2015 and newer sonys can do 1080p @ 120hz, 850, 810 and i think the 830. its 120hz native, but if you display 4k your limited to 60 due to hdmi.

Some bog standard Samsung HD LED 32" tv. It has excellent image quality though. It's like one of their higher end tv's but with all the extra processors and smart tv shit cut out and you're left with a high quality panel with amazing picture quality.

I use it as my pc monitor too since it has a pc mode. Because it doesn't have all that processing shit it's got really good response times like 5ms monitor or something.

Anon, you really need better speakers and peripherals. I had those Logitech speakers since they were pretty cheap, but a decent set of speakers really does make a difference.
