Going the way of Microsoft
>>57250636
What's next?
>>57250714
keyboard
>>57250636
1. in os x it will be a 'cancel' touch button dependent on context
2. in other os the touchscreen will display the keyboard (its independent from the OS)
>keep the function keys
>add menu bar thing above
>make it 3x higher so it can show proper menus, album art etc
>make screens 4x3
I would have liked it
there is no Esc key because there is no escape from the botnet
>>57250636
Are they trying to pull a Lelnovo? I can't see how even Apple can make this garbage touchbar idea work.
how will you leave insert mode in vim without an escape key? pretty sure mac os even comes with vim so this feels dumb
>>57250899
you must configure vim to use a different key
>>57250899
The touch pad is obviously going to be context sensitive so when you've got VIM as the active window the esc key will be exactly where it used to be. Only difference will be that it won't be a physical key.
>>57250636
they lost the vimmers.
>>57250899
Ctrl+C. It's actually what I always use, the esc key is in a shitty position anyway.
>>57250732
LENOVO DID IT
>>57250899
AAAAAAAAAAAAA
>>57250930
using what?
>>57251035
pretty sure it's ~/.vimrc
use nano until it's reconfigured
also this: >>57250977
THERE IS NO ESCAPE HAHAHA
>>57250659
Option key is for dual booting
If you have a mac with multiple users at your disposal, try the following: in the login screen, click on one of the users and immediately press the escape key a few times. See that bug?
Well removing the key is one way to fix it...
> Nobody needed this anyway!
Apple fanboys, ladies and gentlemen.
> I can't remember the last time I actually pressed esc, though I do feel for programmers and engineers.
And what about video games?
>>57250636
While they are at it also remove right alt and shift
Apple: Computers for people who don't actually want a computer.
Pretty soon they'll quit making laptops and tell you to just get a tablet and a smartphone.

>i am 12 years old: the post

bind capslock to escape. this is the layout that vim was originally designed for
>>57250636
>buy apple
>there is NO ESCAPE
>>57251067
Good luck with drivers for the bar.
They should remove the space bar too, like, who uses that? LOL. It takes a lot of space!
>>57250822
(you) tried.
>>57250899
>he doesn't remap ESC to jk
>he doesn't at LEAST ctrl+[
im sure all the babies who picked up vim yesterday will be stumped.
I bet you didn't even make <space> your leader key.
are there any mac users who aren't programmers who use the escape key on a regular basis? can't remember the last time i had to press it.
>>57251100
Not sure if serious...
>>57251872
I'm not using a Mac but I know a lot of designers do and most Adobe programs use ESC either as a shortcut or for closing certain functions and windows.
Granted, you can easily remap it but it's still stupid.
>>57251951
It will have a per-program context-sensitive button where the esc key was.
Still pretty dumb.
>>57251275
>right alt
>>57251872
closing a fullscreen window in safari
>>57251998
Are you fucking a white male?
>The ability to fully customize the entire bar
>having a cluster of controls you wish, where you wish on the bar, for any given program in current use
Does the word 'contextual' mean anything to you retards? If I have nothing going on my screen and I'm just looking at a wallpaper, no program boxes no dialogue boxes, the escape key is currently not useful in any way. That space could be used for background information of my choosing, like torrent status, system status etc.

>>The ability to fully customize the entire bar

>>57250991
why though
>>57252901
The bottom half is a drawing tablet with a light up touch keyboard so you can sort of use it like a laptop.
