/mu/ here, what is the most efficient music player for Linux? I am comfortable with things like ncmppmpmppp, but is there something /better/?
read the sticky and sage
>please approve of my life! i have to use the "best" everything that g tells me, i will force myself to like it even if it's cumbersome for me because it's the best pls tell me what to like
A sane person would use programs based on merit and needs. If a person is currently satisfied with something and doesn't have any explicit extra needs, he'd know that there's no need to switch.
Kill yourself.

I just use what's included. Usually works well enough for me and I leave well enough alone.

You didn't even need to mention that you're from /mu/, the rest of your post made that clear.
I use Banshee on Debian, because I like it and it has all the options I need.

I like this music player called Gentoo. Install it.

yeah trying this now it is pretty good. its organized by song tags though, not folders which i think is a pain in the ass for things like splits or compilations, but there seems to be a file browser option now. definitely give it a shot

Just pipe the file directly to an audio device.
Everything is a file in Linux. You don't need a music player. Just pipe stuff around.
