For some reason Apple absolutely refuse to chuck in an i7 until you spend £1,600 at least unless you spec one for £500. Also don't expect a decent GPU no matter what you pay.

But to be honest performance wise a Mac compares well with a PC despite having technically worst specs. Also if you buy a Mac you can guarantee it will be supported for the next decade post Sandy Bridge.

One other complaint I have is Finder. It's stuck in the 90s and is a pain in the arse to use after using Windows Explorer.

The stereotypes mostly come from 15 year olds that have a superiority complex because they successfully installed ubuntu.

OSX is just a POSIX compliant UNIX system with a pretty interface and alot of compatible software.

Some people on here seem to think it's some fisher-price OS when honestly it's very similar to Linux and BSD.
