Which 3D printer should I get?
I'd like to stay around the 300$ range.
Please no recommendations that only use brand name filament.
Nobody is going to have any suggestions because nobody has ever actually purchased a 3D printer. There's 3 people in the world that have one:
The CEO of MakerBot
Adam Savage
and the Portland Public Library
and none of them post here.
Hi I'm Adam Savage, make your own 3d printer

why do you need a 3d printer.
do you need to print more fucking dolls to shove up your ass. might as well wrap your dick in 300$ and burn it.

Will 3D printers ever get good enough to straight up print 3D printers?

Don't do it anon, you think it's going to help you print useful bits but the reality is that a 3d printer solves a vanishing small number of your problems (unless your problems are a lack of cheap looking monochrome star wars busts).
You will use a cheap 3d printer exclusively to print off parts to improve said printer until it looks like a complete hack job. Shortly after finishing all that an expensive non fixable part will break requiring you to sink an additional $50-100 into it, which you won't.
That piece of cheap Chinese shit will rot on your shelf and make you feel ashamed of yourself.

>make gun with 3d printer
>make bullets with 3d printer
>shoot self with gun from 3d printer using bullets from 3d printer
>??? with 3d printer
>profit with 3d printer
don't fall for the 3d printing meme
I bought a K8200 a few years back and I've only used it to test and improve the quality of it.
its still shit though
You're not going to get anything decent at that price. I'd suggest either a Lulzbot Mini or an *ORIGINAL* Prusa i3:

There's a lot of crap chinese i3's on aliexpress that don't function right unless you spend extra dollars on buying the proper parts they skimped on in the first place.
