How many of these can I stack?
Need about 48 headphones to run off a singe aux port.
>>
just use speakers
>>
48? Are you hosting a headphone orgy or some shit? You'd need an amp for all of that, anyways. Or you could not be autistic and do this: >>57237923
>>
>>57237923
Can't I need to feed audio to the children on my bus.
>>
>>57237972
are there rules against using speakers?
>>
>>57238009
Yea, some parents opted out of music for their kids.
>>
>>57237910

>>
>>57238028

>>
>>57237966
This. More than a couple pairs of headphones will require an amp.
>>
>>57238073
Can I amp them up to the bus battery?
>>
If you have 48 pairs of headphones, the volume will be divided by 48, so you will have to crank it up a lot
>>
>>57237972
Feed them your dick instead
>>
Are you planning on running 48 cables down the length of the bus because that sounds dangerous. Have you looked into any wireless alternatives?
>>
your idea is overly complicated

>>
>>57237910
what in the fuck
>>57237972
ok this makes slightly more sense, but still odd and pedophily.

Anyways, there's no way to drive 48 headphones with just those. I'm trying to fathom any way of doing this that won't cost you $10,000.

I'd say if it's a specialty thing, you can probably get some custom made equipment with built in amps inline. But seeing as this >>57238028 makes me think you're doing it soon, I think you're sort of out of luck.

Of course wireless headphones would work, but you'd still need to purchase, I don't know, 30 headphones and still hook up several transmitters. You're looking at a couple grand.

>>57238089
If you go the wireless route you can also buy some battery banks. If the wireless transmitters plug straight to the wall you can get some UPSes (uninterruptible power supplies) that act as huge batteries. I think no more than 1 large one is really required. If they plug to a USB port, you can use a regular battery bank for each transmitter.

It won't work, the sound bouncing through the wire will be divided too many times to hear on the 48th set of headphones. In fact, every connection will leak some sound as it escapes the wire. Essentially the sound on the last set of headphones is O(log(n)), where n is the original volume setting. Be careful bro you don't want any kids to get hurt by the sound leaks, that shit can be deadly

Well, there are 72 seats in this bus.
If one port is used as an extension, and one cable is used as the original plug I'll need 72*2+1 right?
So 145 total y-splitters.
>>
I used to use RCA splitters when I was a kid to connect multiple game consoles to my TV and the quality drop was very apparent to me even as a little kid who was oblivious of so many things

Then if you want to save some money: Learn how to solder.

You can run two amps on each side of the bus, and wire every seat with two audio jacks.
have the controller in the front right seat.

Speaker wire my man, speaker wire.

Neither is good for the device

You could only connect one Bluetooth devices to the device at one time

Just using y splitters will fuck up everything and I wouldn't be surprised if the end result is just noise

Thinking that you can connect 48 headphones(all different impedances) to one headphone jack won't have be a disaster, then you are a retard.

Output radio freq not used in the area -> kids connect on mini chinkshit radios or their phones with headphones. Drive into area with that frequency used? Just turn the dial mang..

Cheaper than setting up some amp/DAC system for 48 sets tied to one device.

>>
>>57240296

You're painfully misinformed. Please google "FCC" and start from there.
>>
When you stack shit up, you end up dividing the power of the audio output between the devices.

You could theoretically buy/diy a power amplifier and arrange the headphones to distribute the power evenly. The problem with this is if one headphone fail and you have it in series, the ones directly attached to it would cease to work. Also, you won't have any volume control but the master one.

I guess if your output signal alredy has some power to it, you can make the amplifiera with LM386's and it's configuration components.

>>
>>57238596
>>57239039
Both these values are important. Feel free to go take your own advice for immediately thinking you actually know everything (or anything, really). To give you an idea of how stupid you are, you are basically making a similar argument that volts is more important than amps when calculating power.

>>57238105
This is not that accurate. The power is divided by 48, assuming equal impedance across the board. If it wasn't, then hilarious imbalances would happen. The volume would then depend on sensitivity after you figure out how much power is going to each based on load (impedance).

Anyway, those that are championing an amp severely underestimate how much power you'd need to overcome not just the 3 dB loss with each split, but other insertion losses (imperfect mating, the cable, which will actually be relevant considering the number, imperfections in the splitting technique; you can only design for two out of the three: perfect impedance matching, lossless, or isolation).

Also, contrary to popular belief, purely non-reactive resistance does actually add noise, and this amount of resistance may be significant enough with cheapo headphones you're undoubtedly using that the end result could just be some hilarious garble.

Finally, it's actually a fairly significant amount of power just in a pure lossless scenario. It's going to be about 2^6 times whatever your target power to each headphone is. Overall it'll likely be <100W, which means it's totally doable, but it's certainly not some cheapo cMoy headphone amp.

You need a 48 channel headphone amp. There are very few guarantees in life, but I guarantee that it will *NOT* be relatively inexpensive. Even a 24 channel headphone amp, combined with 24 of those splitters in your pic, will not be relatively inexpensive.
