Why do devs restrict their APIs so much?
It's like they want people to hammer their severs with shitloads of requests for direct parsing.

It's less work to do less apis.
Restrict how?
You do realize that a single request that fetches tons of records from a database is not good for performance either, right?
That's why we do paging

Well I work in trade and whenever is try to get the really juicy data from any e-commerce site there is no fucking call.
>>57234869
You're supposed to pay top dollar for that data dumbo. That's how trade works
>>57234894
>people playing for data that can be acquired for free
That's not how it works. The result is me having to write a shitload of crawlers & parsers.
I don't even want to imagine how much bandwidth gets wasted by this.

An API is a contract.
Whatever you expose, you can never take it back. So it's a good idea to keep them minimal
>>57234984
>implying you can waste bandwidth
>>57234984
>I just have to create a shitload crawlers to get the data myself
That what you would be paying for you idiot
Because they are retards that don't know GraphQL.
