I wouldn't use a cellphone for VR, but that's just me

As for the goggles I'd recommend, it depends on what you're using it for. If you're gonna jack off, just get the shitty cellphone case. If you're gonna game, then it depends on the games. The Vive seems much more heavily supported than the Oculus however, if that means anything. Avoid PSVR as well, unless you own a PS4.
