Old computers are not useless, but they are supposed to be cheap because they are old. Buying old tech with the same price as the newer model is just dumb. You either get the new one with newer specs or the old one with a good discount.

Obviously there's a point where old tech becomes so old it's rare and becomes expensive for other reasons than productivity. This is not the case when comparing previous and next generation, it needs to have a larger gap.
