Spybot anti beacon
Peerblock with MS lists
Disable win tracking

There will be some conspiracy theorists leaking from /pol/ who will say with absolutely certainty that Windows can get around these programs. Ask for proof and you will see the have none, just theories and conjecture.

>WINDOWS WITHOUT BOTNET

THATS LIKE SAYING

>BOTNET WITHOUT BOTNET

IT CANT BE DONE!
>>
>>57208878
You really can't.
Best you can do is grab a Enterprise ISO and then set the data collection to the lowest setting as that will only send diagnostic information at that point.
>>
>>57208878
you can't debotnet it without going without future updates because if you're paranoid enough to worry about the botnet they you're paranoid enough to consider the possibility that when other avenues are shut off they will spy on you through the update channel
that being said, basically you go into your firewall(the one in your router not the ms one) and block all ms related connections

>>

I like how you use "can't" so that you don't have to prove that they "do", but you still end up being right because, yes, it's a fucking kernel, it can do whatever the fuck the programmers program it to do. Congratulations for that observation. I'm sure those geniuses at Microsoft made a hidden, alternate and fully functional network interface directly into Windows's kernel just so they could send your porn over to Microsoft's servers going around Spynet AntiBeacon's firewall rules.

Triggered shill. Fuck winshit 10.
>>
>>57208878
botnet is a meme
the performance dips people associated with "botnet" is just windows cluster fuck of apps and background processes
if you want it to run smooth just hard disable the apps and programs that hog resources
(remember windows 10 is a EXTREMELY heavy os)
>>
>>57213291
For fuck's sake dude, I'm just saying you can probably safely disable the spyware and you're making up """""facts"""" about how it's impossible because it makes you happy to pretend your handicapped OS is the only one smart people should use. People who tweak Windows to block telemetry and disable Cortana probably pirate it in the first place. I'm just telling you your theory is bullshit.

By installing it in a fucking VM, retard
>>
>>57213327
Honestly I have to work with 7, 8.1 and 10 at work and 10's performance beats the other two by far.

A lot of design choices for 10 are utterly retarded, though. The app system is extremely unstable-- I've had it break several times both at home and at work and I had to reinstall them using PowerShell. Sometimes, it didn't actually fix the problem.

Fuck, once, none of my apps would ever run, and I actually tried REINSTALLING WINDOWS OVER. That doesn't wipe Windows but it's supposed to overwrite its core with a mostly fresh install to fix damage done to it. It didn't fucking work.

Another fun fact: Some system dialogs are apps. Once my apps wouldn't run, and when I tried installing a software that triggered Windows Defender, I wouldn't get the prompt to confirm running it. It just wouldn't run. Why? That prompt is a fucking app.

Windows apps are a cancer.
>>
>>57213400
You might want to rethink here
>>
>>57213404
never had a problem with a single app not working since early beta. You might just be retarded or have some conflicting software

>>
>>57209304
Yeah, but sometimes Windows resets shit with updates so you might have to double check it every once in a while. I'm not too worried, just know from experience. The updates always fuck over my touchpad driver. I switch automatic driver updates. A couple weeks later another fucking touchpad update that makes my touchpad glitch. So fucking annoying.

First you uninstall Windows 10, then install Windows 7. Or alternatively, install Gentoo.
>>

It's called Windows 8.1
>>
>>57214449
Isn't it more than a half now? The number will definitely grow in the next few years. Now that Google and Android/ChromeOS are in the picture the idea of cross platform gaming is a new gold mine. More and more developers are starting to publish games for as many platforms as possible, except the ones fucked over by Microsoft.
>>
>>57211609
>implying Windows 7 has no botnet
Seriously why do you believe 10 has a botnet but 7 doesn't?
>>
You cant. Security companies tested it and MS confirmed you cant turn it off 100%. There is still data being sent to MS.
>>
>>57215208
Because no data is being sent in the background on 7 if you uninstall the spyware updates.
>>
>>57213400
lol, it is most retarded thing i seen in a while

only thing windows is good for are gaems and without gpu passthrought it's impossible on vm
>>
>>57215276
if you don't install them in first place
>>
>>57213379
It's funny because it wouldn't take much to prove that win 10 is sending out "hidden" data to MS.

Since it has to go through a router you can just monitor whatever it sends and where. Unless someone would imply the botnet is so strong it can jump right over hardware.
>>
>>57215331
still nothing being sent obviously, you tard.
>>
>>57215374
>it wouldn't take much to prove that win 10 is sending out "hidden" data to MS
already been proven
>>
>>57215383
I meant after getting all kinds of anti-botnet stuff which was posted in the first post.

Does the data still go through? Has THAT been proved? Do link if you got any.
>>
>>57215399
Yes, it's being sent thru the kernel, there is no way for any "anti botnet" shit to stop it.
>>
>>57215408
Do you have any *proof* is the keyword here. I'm sure it can but have ANYONE actually tested it?

You know, so it doesn't have any doubts of the fact and this shitty meme can die already? Even if you might know more than me I will simply not take your word for it.

>>
>>57215449
I didn't read any attempts to block it with 3rd party software but the bypass of the HTTP/HTTPS proxy was disturbing. It mostly covered how "disabling" all you could in windows settings didn't mean much, unless you had enterprise edition. Also, MS going deeper into the bigbrother domain.

Well, you made your point. I'll shut up about it for now.
>>
>>57215507
you cant block the kernel with 3rd party software.
>>
>>57215596
Ok but wouldn't a router configured to block all outgoing traffic do the trick? I can't imagine win 10 traffic dodging hardware outside of the kernel itself.
>>
>>57215623
Yeah it should work.
>>
>>57215639
Then we can conclude that instead of attempting to circumvent the kernel you can just block the traffic through the router, effectively stopping the botnet then?

It doesn't sound like it's that easy but I found this: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r30222844-Stop-Windows-10-From-Spying-On-You-36-DNS-Addresses-to-host-file

Setup the addresses to be blocked from the router and it might actually impede the botnet.
>>
>>57215748
probably, but they can easily just setup another address and update the OS to send to that, forcing people to continuously update their hardware firewall.

or just install enterprise edition (which i think ill do if i ever upgrade)
