Why would you limit your device capabilities by putting a server OS on it? Are you running a server? Sysadmin? Managing backend? If not then you don't need Linux.

Now try uninstalling on Linux. You have no idea where the remnants of the installation are because of the retarded file system where almost all directories are locked under root.

Cleaning up on Windows is easy with Ccleaner and control panel. Linux is a fucking nightmare you cock goblin.

So what? It doesn't run any good mainstream software. Wine only supports outdated installs with limited functionality as IE11 dependencies and DirectX9 are broken as fuck in Wine.

If I have to use Windows software on Linux to get things done, then might as well use Windows.

In any case if you use a package manager, you can easily uninstall.

Linux needs to die quickly.

Doesn't work especially with dependencies. You don't know which dependencies you need to keep.

I tried removing the default mail app on Ubuntu it bricked the system. Tried removing global bar in unity, it bricked the system. Removed dependencies for Wine from my system, Ubuntu can't login to my account after that.

What the actual fuck?

Regardless, Windows does not have this problem. You can remove any software and its related Visual C++ etc, and Windows runs fine. None of your software is tied to Windows system files and the installers do a fine job on their own without my input.

Linux is the same no matter which DE you put on top. The core is a turd, you polish it however you want.

Also I used nearly all flavors of Ubuntu, Manjaro, Arch, Fedora, Linux Lite, Linux Mint, eOS etc. Ubuntu was the least annoying of them. The worst offender being Fedora with its RPM nonsense. Seriously Fedora should not even exist, it is horrifying. The most stupidest spinoff has to be elementary OS with so many bugs, it feels like an Alpha release.
>>
>>57206726

>>
>>57207094

Thanks for proving my point. I'm not saying that those people who open legitprogram.exe kind of stuff aren't dumb. I'm saying that the fact a even a standard user executing a program can cause so much damage that you need to reinstall is hilarious. In linux it can delete your personal files at most and can't damage the systen files directly as it isn't running as root. There's a reason why antiviruses aren't even remotely popular among linux users.
>>
>>57206911
GNU/Linux was not intended to be a "server OS" nor is it. It can be used for any purpose the user deems needed.
>>
>>57207192

Never did I imply it was an installer, what I meant was it allows an identical process of installation you would have on Windows, just like >>57207216 said. Download the file, open it, install the software, no need for the terminal. The only difference is you have to enter your password unless you're running as root.

>I tried removing the default mail app on Ubuntu it bricked the system.
We may have different views about what bricked means.
When you remove software, you get a list of packages which gets removed as well.
If you don't know what that will do to the system, don't do it.
>Tried removing global bar in unity, it bricked the system.
This seems more believable.
Removing crucial parts of a DE will brick the DE.
It is the good and the bad part of having applications which are entangled.
They work better together, but they also depend on each other.
If you don't like a DE, pick another. There is so many out there.
Either you stick with the defaults on one of those, or you do a bit of research on how to modify it.

windows 10 just werks, at least. mint is supposed to be one of the easiest to use distros too. I feel like linux is still not user friendly enough to begin with. Obviously I'll stick with it and once i learn what to do it will be great, but getting started is just one headache after another. especially with the terminal I look up problems and people can rattle off a long command no worries but how the fuck do you learn this stuff without taking a course in linux or spending years working with it. this is mint, not gentoo.
