May I give a piece of advice. If you're lacking on battery, keep your phone on battery mode "Power save." I can use it for hours and it'd drain only 50%.

How is cyanogenmod?
I'm on tru pure x but the dev hasn't updated in like 5 months. There's a thread up on XDA for cm14 which apparently works pretty well, but I don't think you can use the moto features on cyanogen. Are you using the ambient display or anything?

Seriously why isn't there full control over this yet? I remember lollipop have a wake up permission setting which was neat but didn't fully alleviate the issues, I can't find a similar setting in 6.0.

Why isn't there a universal setting that lets you specify how many times an app is allowed to wake up per hour?

The development is pretty slow since the dev moved on, but it's very stable and fast.
He said that he'll still work on major updates though, so expect to see a nougat update of the rom at least.
