Is there any way to get this cheaper?
>Simple upgrade to my old build.
>Already have PSU, GPU, fan, etc.
>Don't want to overclock ever so no need for i7 6700k
>Only ever going to use a single GPU, so no need for SLI
Could I drop the fancy mobo since I'm never going to overclock and don't need SLI support? What would be a good replacement?

I should also mention what this build is going to be used for:
>Streaming at 720p, 30FPS
>Gaming at 1080p, 60FPS
I feel like this would handle even streaming things like GTA V. (The whole reason I'm upgrading)

>AS5
I'm going to assume its been 10 years since you've applied TIM but AS5 is fucking dogshit. Get something better like MX4.
>>57193072
Actually, two years.
Op here, one more question:
I still have my aftermarket fan from two years ago. It still runs perfectly fine.
It's made for an LGA 1155 socket, would it fit on the LGA 1151 socket?
>>57192988
I fixed your shit
>>57193213
No need. If you're not overclocking, just use the stock cooler.
>>57193459
If I use the stock cooler, doesn't it already come with thermal paste pre-applied? Any use in putting MX4 on top of that?

As long as your GPU is half-way not shit, this guy's build will work perfectly:
>>57193459
And, yeah. Just use the stock cooler. There's no need for the thermal paste if you do.

Right now it's an AMD 7970. After I put this upgrade together, I'm buying a 1060.
I'll be on the 7970 for at least two months, though. Is that fine?

At the same time? I5 would be enough, man
>>57195076
>I5 would be enough
I don't really want to skimp out on my CPU to much. I feel like the i7's multi tasking would be way better for doing both at the same time.
