Let's start another desktop thread, but with a twist : post both your oldest and newest desktop screenshot.
I start with the 2nd computer I ever used (first one was 3.1, but I don't have any screenshot)
And my last one
>>57165429
That made me remember all the bullshit I had to go through in order to have internet
>>57165429
Anyway I'll bump with those inbetween
Also I loved my Windows 2000. I created some rad games with TGF back in the day.
First computer I had my own user session on.
>>57165489
My very first own computer <3
Come one, I can't be the only one who compulsively screened my desktops
My first linux !
I liked how you could mess with everything
Oldest I could find, although not that old. My first windows were 95 and this is XP. I don't have any screenshots from before windows or from c64
>>57165679
And here's the current one
>>57165657
my first linux was ubuntu gutsy, and I know what you mean. too bad all those gtk themes and icon themes don't work as well today. would nostalgia so hard.
>>57165720
The revelation in terms of ricing was for me Ubuntu Lucid. The docks, oh, the docks. My friends were jealous, because they had windows (I suppose they did not know how to put docks on windows)
(Also yes, I was a stupid 4chan/triforce summerfag fanboy)
>>57165429
My 300gb gaming partition
>>57165679
Also what was Game of life ? And do you still have 666.jpg ?
>>57165799
what was the name of the app under that last icon on your dock, the green one? I remember it was a tweaking utility, but there were so many. And that messaging menu was really great in lucid, too bad it lost a lot of its functionality over the years
>>57165846
Ubuntu tweak. The best way to ruin your computer. Still in use today, I think, but not compatible with gnome-shell
>>57165842
WOW I wouldn't even check if you didn't ask - I do have 666.jpg, But it's stupid. One (goth) girl and I flirted on BBS and visited each other's profiles 666 times. that was the screenshot.
Edgy as fuck.
Game of life was some instance of the Conway's game of life, but I don't have that one.
>>57165876
Googled it now, completely forgot it ever existed, but it evokes a comfy feeling
you realize this is autosaged right?
>>57165905
Great ! Now that's the charm of old desktops - remembering old things.
Also, I hope you enjoyed your vacations in Mexico in 2006
>>57165987
what do you mean ?
>>57165989
I've never been to mexico
>>57166013
Hah, ok. I was referring to the iZarc archive titled "Tulum" >>57165679
Used multiple utilities and regedits to modify windows
>>57166007
i mean if you make a thread with "desktop thread" anywhere in the op then the thread won't get bumped no matter what
we have an autistic mod who doesn't like desktop threads for some reason
>>57166030
>>57166007
for example, the thread is on page 7 right now after less than an hour, im not saging and you aren't either so...
>>57166030
not even desktop threads *with a twist* ? What a shame.
>>57166041
>Let's start another desktop thread,
>desktop thread
their filter isn't very advanced, just replace a letter with something else or call it "thread for desktops" or something like that
>>57166028
it's a winamp playlist actually! we were just preparing for a party in our dorm
>>57166058
Right, I took the winamp logo for the izarc one. Too bad, I had hoped someone else was using iZarc, other than me.
>>57166055
I'll do that next time. But most people use the catalog, don't they ?
>>57166117
yes but that's besides the point, the thread will die in like an hour or two, and the mods will delete it if they find it and probably ban you
>>57166124
damn
