My ideapad 100s feels cheap because of the plastic but it's been very durable and solid so far. Only real gripe is the shit touchpad and no touch screen to compensate that like my dads asus transformer.

Macbook air is horrible value though. Idk about when and where you bought it, but in aus you can get a celeron netbook with 4gb ram and comparable battery life for almost 1/5th the cost. Or an i3 netbook for ~one half the cost. An ulv i5 for a general study/web machine is overkill and underkill for production and gaming.

Macbook pro isn't bad at all though, for that price.
