I've got an AMD R9 290 and AMD FX6350. Obviously this doesn't make the cut when it comes to game performance. I'm looking to upgrade, but can currently only afford one or the other. Would I be better off with a GeForce 1080 or an Intel CPU?

Good post, anon.

Get an i5-6600k and you'll be good
Definitely cpu. Maybe wait for zen or get an haswell-k, so you're not wasting money on DDR4 for dubious performance gains.

wow, I remember reading that entire issue.

That's why >>57139397
I just got this r9 280x and even with the bottleneck that my Pentium g3260 is, I'm getting pretty good performance in most games
CSGO of course is trivial, shit runs on integrated graphics at 30fps
But 60fps in 1080p with near max graphics settings in gta v
That's some cool shit, coming from last playing it on an Xbox 360 Elite

Upgrade your CPU, your 290 is almost equivalent to an RX 480 in performance.

I posted this in the wrong tab but it's kinda relevant I guess
Op your GPU should be cash money, invest in a better CPU or SSD or some shit

get a ps4

how come?
i can play gta v on my laptop with integrated gpu
you know you dont have to play everything on highest settings right?
games are about gameplay, not eye candy
