Need a laptop for work while I'm travelling. The only real requirement is a 1080p resolution on a 15" screen. Won't be gaming on it, don't need a powerful dedicated GPU. Don't care about battery life. It'll only be used maybe 50-60 days the next 2-3 years so it doesn't have to have a reputation for being ultra durable. Don't care about aesthetics. Lightness is a plus but it doesn't have to be super light or thin. If you can find a refurbished one cheap that'd great.
Budget, hard to say. For the last three years I've been using a ThinkPad W500 until the HDD failed. I got that one for 350e refurbished. I was pretty happy with it (could be lighter) so I'd feel weird paying much more than 300-400 now three years later. Open to suggestions in different price ranges though.
Give me some recommendations?

What do you think about a chromebook? https://www.amazon com Acer-Chromebook-CB5-571-C09S-15-6-Inch-Full/dp/B00T03KQ34
You need to add a dot and a slash

Not OP, but can you put loonix on these things? I've been looking for a cheap laptop with no need for storage meself and that looks appealing, except for the OS of course.

Why don't you just replace the HDD?

I use an hp pro-book
pretty decent

This.
If you're gonna be cheap about it this is the cheapest option. Maybe even an SSD if you don't need a large drive.

SSDs on older Pads are a wonderful upgrade, and you can throw a large spinner in the caddy for storage if want.
I load OS to most of my drives since they take little space and being able to boot any of your storage drives is surprisingly handy.

Yes you can.
Either via crouton, or dual boot. Or completely remove shitOS and leave only GodlyOS.

the price plus the hassle (never messed around with laptop innards before so there'd be a learning curve). I remember wanting to exchange the HDD on a different laptop ages ago and it would have required removing the keyboard and a bunch of other stuff. Maybe it's easier now.
plus new ones just seem so cheap and I'd like something a little lighter
but i'll look into it

>he doesn't use a laptop with a cooler rated for 35W TDP dual core cpus running a 55W TDP quad core XM mobile processor
step it up
>>57127472
>doesn't need a gaming laptop
>no battery life required
>does not need to be durable
>no good CPU required
So you just need some internet browsing shit? Just about anything could work. Can't be too hard to find...
>>57127690
Yeah, but it's CPU dependent on how far you can go
Or if the SSD is soldered on etc

>soldered ssd
disgusting
