My Wi-Fi is literally useless if my wife is connected to it and using facebook on her Android phone.

I've tested this extensively, I can watch 1080p youtube on my laptop, have an online game on a console running, and still have images load instantly. The second my wife's phone is on the Wi-Fi, everything slows to an unbelievably slow crawl for every device except her goddamn phone.

Obviously getting a woman to stop using facebook is out of the question, and it eats up her battery and data plan on the cell network. It wouldn't be as bad if she didn't let it run in the background all the time, but she's actively on it enough that it would still be an issue regardless

what the fuck can I do? Why is it that every technological advancement is swiftly undone by the utter incompetence and greed of business?

On the positive side, I've been getting into my books more recently..

My router shits itself when I'm on my phone too, but thankfully I don't use it enough for it to be an issue
That's what I get for buying a $30 router from Walmart. Can't even port forward without crashing

This. Even if you don't know what quality of Service, qos, does on router nodern routers are configured to be ok tier. Just enable it if it is not enabled on stock settings.

Buy a separate router for her wifi shit. Keep wifi disabled on you main router.
