Why would they release the checksum of something that's already public? Torrent takes care of verifying it's legit anyways. This is obviously the hash of something else, like the encryption key or the actual decrypted file, or maybe something else, who knows.
The whole point of this is to prove they have something, to prove that they knew something before it went public, or to threaten certain enemies.
