What do linux users that use linux as their main OS for their daily activities actually do on a daily basis?

Please excuse the autistic anime picture.

>>
Pretty much just web and weeb. Some dev projects too but I just don't feel up to it lately. Work lyfe.

I love that I get to choose when my computer restarts itself. I hate that this is now something I have reason to love.

Play video games
Chat/voice on Discord
Use my web browser
Manage my homeservers

Could do exactly the same on Windows, but why would I? On my Linux install I've fully customized my workflow, so everything becomes a lot comfier. It also has noticeably better performance on my hardware compared to Win8.1 or 10.

Literally normal computer usage. Watching YouTube, playing games, listening to music via Spotify, typing up documents via Google docs or libreoffice, watching TV shows and movies via Netflix, popcorn time, or plain torrents, occasionally bash or Python scripting and/or java and C programming

>>57110868
Windows 10 doesn't force updates anymore like 8 did. You can set what times it will do updates.
>>
>>57113896
No, you can set your "active hours" and the OS presumes you'll always only use it during the 12 hours it limits you to so if you for some reason use it earlier or later in the day it can fuck you.
>>
>>57110485
I have two computer.
The older one runs is a debian based distro.
On that computer:
-I download and store movies and anime, then use Samba to share it as network storage to the main computer.
-Use it to download music from yt (I know, pleb, but I can't tell the difference and it's faster that way)

It's nothing really revolutionary, but it's a less powerfull machine that kinda works as ghetto server.
>>
>>57110485
-browse (firefox)
-listen to music (deadbeef)
-run vms (virtualbox, pi-hole, vm for torrenting/vpn)
-play games (payday 2, rocket league)
-watch stuff on kodi/exodus
-watch btrfs shit itself, file bugs
-looking into making something like netlimiter/glasswire in python, nethogs but better GUI, limiting per app if I figure it out

I'm pretty sure that my inactive time is set only from 3 to 3:30 AM
I'm gonna need some proof on that 12 hours time window, else I'm gonna call bullshit.

Surf the web, program, read, watch anime, sometimes even play vidya games. I don't play anywhere near as much as I used to.

I haven't touched Windows in 2 years now.

http://www.windowscentral.com/how-configure-active-hours-avoid-windows-10-sudden-restarts-during-updates

and the fact that I couldn't set the active hours on my laptop longer than 12 hours
>>
>>57114173
My bad.
I don't even have that setting, I can just defer upgrades.
I got confused with the custom restart time which I set to 3:30 AM
>>
>>57110485
Movies, TV shows, music, internet browsing, school work with LibreOffice and saving that to the cloud. That's pretty much it. Before I used to play a lot, but I haven't really had had the time for that in a while.
