i installed 7 over 8 via usb and it was easy as shit
it even put all my files into windows.old without having to manually back anything up, it was cash

Honestly idk. I pirated window 7 and ran the setup.exe and clicked the second button, I can't remember what it was but it was installing shit and stuff and during the first restart, I got an error saying some files got corrupted and now if I continued start up normally it's just a black screen.

It'll ask for a product key but you can skip that step and install without it. I still haven't bothered to activate mine and I installed it like 6 months ago.
