It's always really awkward and buggy installing desktops from different GUI toolkits in Ubuntu. Unity to cinnamon would be a better transition than unity to plasma. If you wanted to use Plasma from the start it's better to have just installed Kubuntu or KDE neon.

You have still install DVD (which I assume you ejected after installing Ubuntu) in your list of apt repositories.

Remove it from the repository list, do apt update, then try installing kubuntu-desktop again.

OP here, it seems like in kde which im using right now i can't access the partition that has windows on it, i'd usually access it easily from unity but in kde it's not there, how could i get to it? cause it has all my files
