The other day I was cleaning out my drawers ready for a house move and came across this, one of the better purchases I have made but unused for some time. I thought of you and wanted to ask.
Do people still use dedicated music players? Does anyone here have a Sansa Clip+ and still find utility in it that can't be provided by a phone?
I use this exact player because it doesn't have an xbox-hueg screen to break when I drop it on the floor of the gym or the street when I'm out riding my bike.

Are there any around with the same file support, equal or better SQ, and support for 128-256GB storage via micro SD?
>>57100438
No it's trash, send it to me anon
I thought I lost mine and found it in a suit pocket after 6 months (I don't wear a suit often)
Fuck yeah
>tfw headphone jack broke on mine
served me well all those years

I have pic related. Is it basically the same? if so why do people wank over them so much?
They just seem like a good little mp3 player like all other good little mp3 players i've ever had.

>pic related
I still use my iPod Classic from time to time. Since a lot of cars have support for iPod controls via the headunit, it's a nice way to get a big music collection in a car.
Sure they dont make these but they're only 20-30 on ebay
you guys are this dumb?

"latest" ones to be supported by rockbox.
>>57101481
no, they're going for close to 100 now.
used.
Yeah, I use a Sony NW M505
very nice to use and you can navigate without looking at it. Extremely convenient when cycling
Xduoo X2/X3 it's got high fidelity sound... X2 you can buy with 50$

> if so why do people wank over them so much?
This is /g/, once a product gains momentum it becomes a snowball of a meme and the board starts shilling itself, for free.
>gentoo
>casio f91w
>sansa clip
>oneplus
>akg weebphones
etc etc

I use it when I want to listen to music in "extreme" situations (ie when I think my phone could get damaged). This includes hiking, running, doing manual work, sometimes in transports.

I loved my clip+ but after about a year it had some loading problems(would freeze and then sometimes get stuck on the "loading library" or whatever screen until I plugged it into a computer. Also the plug+adapter on my Sennheiser 558 was bigger than the player and totally fucked up the headphone port.
Sold my zip a few days ago for $20
Looking for a new player now. Either the shanling M1 or xduoo X3.
>>57100964
All of the variations of the clip have shit tier jacks that break easy it is their biggest flaw by far

Then use a soldering-iron and fix it.
You do have a soldering iron, right?
Right?

Yes, you fucking cock jockey.

i have a player that lasted ~60h on battery for the first year after purchase. since then battery life went to shit, and i have difficulty finding a good replacement device.
i doubt a phone can do that, considering it's not a dedicated audio player device and other things eat battery life too.

>and still find utility in it that can't be provided by a phone?
parametric equalizer
crossfeed
replaygain with opus files

Rocking a good old iPod nano 3rd generation. Had it for like 7 years. The volume slider thing is a little buggy as well as the lock, but it good.
>inb4 applefag. This is a quality product
