This thing is impressive. It has more features than Skype and it runs in your browser. The actual Jitsi client must be even better.
Why is no one using it?

I used this a few years ago when they were trying to be an open source skype replacement
It was shit and barely worked

And you can totally tell in which programming language something was written by running it, totally. You're even more ridiculous than the audiophiles.
The only downside for Java is that you need to have the Java runtime installed.

i can, because it uses its own toolkit
>>57100394
I knew you were going to mention that. Only an idiot would judge a programming language by one of its GUI toolkits. I just checked and there are Java bindings for GTK or Qt. "Ugly UI" is not an argument against a programming language.
t. someone who admits that it looks ugly

that and java programs tend to be relatively large and memory hungry
jitsi is 68M installed, and since i have no other java programs, also requires 135M in java dependancies

This is why.

The program itself isn't terrible but the implementation has no reason to be so shitty
Stop trying to make Java on the desktop a thing ffs
Ideally just stop using it altogether
Shit, I've literally just got a ticket for this at work. Its alright I guess. Setting up the server was simple enough, and most of it works nicely. I do like the room creation feature, like https://anonswork.com/conference-room

It's written by some French guy as a project while he was in uni. Kill yourselves.
