OpenRC it is. I use it for my personal machine. My lab's computers are running Ubuntu so I have to use systemd. It's enough for me.

why do distros all like having it if its so bad?
>>57099256
Because Redhat did it, and because some SystemD nerds won the flamewar on the Debian mailing list.
Because most distros are fucking debian derivatives now. Nobody rolls their own code.
Like 70% of other distros that aren't derived or related aren't on SystemD, lol.

cool, thanks for the response

Why does Arch use SystemD by default? You can switch to OpenRC, but still... Wouldn't it be "the Arch way" to let the user choose during installation?
because it's the X11 or pulseaudio (same dev even) of init systems

Anyone who disagrees is just a C++ fanboy.

Glad I'm on Windows. :)

Arch picked it up because they're basically the "OH LOOK SHINY!.... SQUIRREL, LOLRANDOM" of distros.

Hi there!
You seem to have made a bit of a mistake in your post. Luckily, the users of 4chan are always willing to help you clear this problem right up! You appear to have used a tripcode when posting, but your identity has nothing at all to do with the conversation! Whoops! You should always remember to stop using your tripcode when the thread it was used for is gone, unless another one is started! Posting with a tripcode when it isn't necessary is poor form. You should always try to post anonymously, unless your identity is absolutely vital to the post that you're making!
Now, there's no need to thank me - I'm just doing my bit to help you get used to the anonymous image-board culture!

I just migrated my shit to FreeBSD. Works p. well, esp if you remember how to set up a *nix system Circa 2008/9.
