I'm getting really paranoid, I just purchased a new computer and when I was taking it out of the box
I actually dropped it in the packaging maybe about a 6 inch drop. The computer was still in styrofoam but it dropped on the base which wasn't in styrofoam.
I'm concerned if I've damaged it, is that possible, or am I being paranoid?
I've booted it up and it works fine
pic related is the computer

Computers aren't that fragile as many people think. If it boots up it means the hard drive isn't broken, which is the part that is most likely to break in a drop. You're fine.

It has only an SSD anyway, maybe that means it's even harder to break

>i dropped a computer wrapped in protective casing 6 inches
>i plugged it in and it works fine
it's fine. it was likely abused more during construction and transport.

>only moving part that is not bolted down hard is maybe the fan
Is it overheating? No? It's fine.

Ok I was hoping so, thanks for the reassurance anon.

>new computer
That's just some overpriced toy, not a computer.

No. My laptop has fallen 3ft off a table 3-4 times with no damage. I've also had a monitor fall with no damage. If it was in styrofoam you're fine.
When I was n high school I worked for UPS for christmas season. You'd sweat bullets if you saw how the people treated packages there.
any problem you have with the computer is a result of this drop. you fucked up
