I honestly think the onePlusThree is a pretty good improvement over the OnePlusOne. Owning a OPO myself the build quality of the OPT is a lot better to bad it has pentile.

What I really dislike is the price hike 300/OP1 > 350/OP2 > 400/OP3. That's a 25% price increase! For a bit more you can have a lot better options. 300 is the sweet point for me personally.

there's another OnePlus phone coming out soon.

it's confirmed, but how soon idk. it's rumored to have sd821, meme QHD amoled screen and 6 ir 8gb of ram...

dunno it'll have microsd this time. all I'm seeing it might be called OnePlus 3 plus. which sounds really stupid.
>>
>>57094039
3 is good though. Oneplus is the new Nexus.
>>
>>57097276
No SD card slot and the Pentile screen kinda break the deal though. I'd say Honor is more reliable as a brand because of better quality control due to being a daughter company of Huawei.
>>
>>57097537
Valid complaints, but nothing I can't deal with. Phones are all about the software today, and that's where OP3 shines.

pattern of subpixel-arrangement.

LCD have and early AMOLED-screens had RGB-subpixels for each pixel.

Pentile AMOLEDs have RGBG-subpixels for every _two_ pixels.

Only due to high pixel-densitiy Pentile doesn't look like complete shit.
>>
I've been using my original OPO for about two years now and I honestly don't have any reason to get a new phone.

One Plus needs to step up their game if they want another real flagship killer.

Owner since release. My 2 gripes are

>"3D" screen, so the palm of my thumb is registering touches when im trying to use it with one hand

Both issues are fixed with a case, but it's silly relying on that if you're designing aesthetics.

No. The only good time to buy One Plus phones is right after the release.

Hardly at all.
They usually get a small pricecut after a new phone gets released but it's really not a lot.

Like, the OPO was still over 200 bucks last time I checked.

Does it change the Pentile-subpixel-arrangement? No? Then fuck off.
>>
>>57094099
It honestly feels like they went with the shape just because it wasn't a circle like Apple's. On one hand I'd say it's stupid to make design decisions on the basis of just being different.

On the other hand for all I know Apple has copyrighted circle home button design.
>>
>>57100652

>>
>>57100652
How does this even work with a rectangular grid of pixels? Does this arrangement essentially mean that some pixels can't be blue, and some can't be red?

True, but there isn't much to change.
Pic related is the last phone with an original design. I'm curious to see what else they've got up their sleeves and I hope there will be a continuation to this phone (even if the first model didn't sell to well).
>>
>>57100324

The pentile display was the reason, i chose the Honor 8 instead. That and not having a MicroSD slot.

>>
>>57100733
Amoled is actually more of a strain to the eyes and suppossedly loses colour accuracy over time.

I prefer high end IPS displays, they have great blacks ( almost Amoled like ) and generally have more realistic colours as well as more reliability.

Because it does not work with pixel grid. With pentile some pixels can't be red, some can't be blue. It looks like shit and no amount of scientific tests measuring some useless metrics will change that.
>>
>64gb Nexus 6p 409€
>64gb OP3 399€

>>
>>57101886
If you prefer the camera go for Nexus 6P, otherwise go for Oneplus 3.
>>
>>57101953
What about customer service and warranty?
>>
>>57101963
I've had the OnePlus 2 and had zero problems with warranty and customer service. Although, if you want to compare both of them, you should go for the Nexus if you edge more on the *feel safe* - side.

What other criteria's do you have?
>>
>>57101832
So what you're saying is though all the metrics about screen resolution and color gamut and shit all say it's good, the actual look is trash?
>>
>>57098518
I still think this was the best design overall too. Size was perfect.

Here's what would need to be fixed however.

>Increase battery capacity (make it thicker I don't care, it was thin anyway)
>More efficient chipset
>AMOLED with system wide dark mode for muh battery
>MicroSD
>Base storage 32gb

AMOLED isn't a big deal in all honesty, the LCD on that phone was good for what I do anyway. I loved the feel of that phone, kinda wish I still had one.
>>
>>57101992
I want a fast reliable phone that I can use for years that won't degrade over time. Possibly with a decent screen (2k not mandatory), good UI (they are very similar in that regard) , good audio quality through headphones would be a plus, good battery life
>>
>>57100949
Don't forget, AMOLEDs have PWM brightness control which fuck with your eyes, especially if used for VR.
>>
>>57102030
Budget?
>>
>>57102065
I prefer to stay in the 400 450€ range but if you have another suggestion feel free to suggest. I am basically torn between the 6p, OP3 and the s7
I have had really good experience with my nexus 4 (which still works and performs good except shitty battery and camera) so I am leaning more towards 6p or OP3
>>
>>57100508

>>
>>57094039

>>
>>57101712
>>57101832
>>57101998
Pentile is fine as long as the resolution is high enough.
A 1440p pentile display has the same amount of subpixels per inch as a 1080p RGB display.

Oneplus fucked up because they went with a 1080p pentile display, which is equal in subpixel count to a regular 720p display.
Which, at 5.5 inches, looks pretty bad.
>>
>>57101998
>all the metrics

Do you honestly not see that as a negative? No only it fucks up pixel grid it distorts perception of screen resolution.
