Go for the cpu upgrade and save yourself some money. 1150 is still a perfectly acceptable socket. I'm still stuck on 1155 with a 3770k but I'm planning a dual xeon based upgrade in the future, should be pretty neat.

Made it by modifying and reinforcing two coffee tables. Couldn't justify spending $200-350 in shipping costs for an authentic kotatsu (or two) that would fit my needs.

The rear table doesn't have a heater or a blanket, just used for the sole purpose of having a spot to place my monitors, my thinkpad and its dock, my desktop's case, and my server, most of which is hidden behind the monitors.

I got some thick sheet metal from HD, and a metal cutting wheel from Harbor Freight. I made a template off the G13 shape with cardboard, then cut the metal to match it, then bent/shaped it to match G13 contour, painted it, mounted the G13 so I can access it by touch without really lifting hand off throttle. I won't bore you with the rest of the chair shit. It does work just how I hoped it would. Looking into a sub compact motion platform base idea have. We shall see.

I am waiting on some flexible goose necks for a mounting idea. Will see how it plays. This what I enjoy most, figuring out and trying to make it work as I imagine.

So I have the HD 7850 2gb which has served me well since 2012, but I really want to be able to max out (or nearly max out) Niggerfield 1 when it comes out and I also want to be able to finally play Witcher 3 and ENB modded Skyrim at 60fps because my 7850 isn't up for those tasks.

Money is really tight, I can get a super clocked EVGA 1060 3gb for only $189.99 with $10 mail in rebate and I'm not going to be playing anything above 1080p, should I save $60-70 and get the 1060 3gb or is it really worth it to spend that much extra money to get the 6gb considering that I'm only playing games at 1080p and don't mind turning down SOME settings from ultra to get the VRAM usage under 3gb.
