Can someone explain me the reasons behind having TWO menus? Isn't it redundant if you can fit everything into only one, allowing more screen space for programs etc?

Another thing I don't get is why would you want your menu at the TOP, making it more difficult to close/maximise/minimise windows. I don't get it.

This is why I didnt'like make. I hate two panels and couldnt figure out how to just get one panel with window buttons.
