Are there any alternatives for Plex Android app?
I don't want to pay 5 $ for it.

>>57056734
Buy the Pass.
>>57056883
Yes, unless they use your Google account or something
>>57056734
buy it. people like you are the reason some good app developers have started making apps with ads.

5$ is way too much for a mobile app.
2$ is max I would ever pay for a shitty mobile app.
>>57056915
then just do >>57056750
But the lifetime membership, worth every penny
Currently have my 4x4TB raid 5 array to store my Plex server media. Also filebot is great for organization
>>57056734
You could swap out the entire thing for a free Emby. Word of warning, it sucks
>>57056734
Any linux distro with minidlna installed is a good alternative.
>>57056915
If it's so shitty and easy to only charge 2 bucks make one yourself mate.
Any DLNA app should work.
You can use videostream, but it's not as robust as plex by far. I had to convert all my mkv files to mp4 to work with my chromecast. My poor laptop was having fever dreams.
>>57056734
what happens if you just go to the plex website? does it display properly in any chrome browser?
I've just been using Kodi with screen mirroring with nexus 6 / Chromecast.
My network isn't anything special and it rarely has hiccups.
Just install the patched APK from mobilism.
>>57056734
just open the plex web interface on your smartphone, dummy.
>>57057858
This, works in Firefox for Android.

5$ is not worth for a shitty app that can't even into gapless playback
>>57058614
it never ceases to amaze me how poor this board is
I think emby has free mobile apps
Amazon underground has the Plex app for free
>>57059381
It does not.
>>57057931

>>57059691

>>57059725
If you have Emby Premiere, the mobile app is free. If you don't have Emby Premiere, you'll need to complete an in-app purchase to stream your linux isos.
>>57059748
then it used to be free before emby premiere was a thing
Its a pretty shitty app.
I still paid for it though.
If you hit the play button on a video then the back button...
>episode info
>back again
>season info
>back again
>show info
>back again
>list of series
>drop down appears to return to home
