Think about it like Linux. Lots of eyes look at Linux, so if something fucks up, usually a bugfix comes pretty quickly. Well not many eyes are looking at your emails. Not many eyes even are looking at gmail, too risky. But Hillary Clinton? Now that's a good target. To add to that, a lot of the emails I feel like come from whistleblowers.
