>2137 packages

how can i remove some that i don't want or need?
>>
>>57047502
install gentoo
>>
>>57047502
Unless your root partition is running low on space, there is no reason to do so.
>>
>>57047502
yum remove
>>
>>57047577

i want to remove them in bulk. yum remove will take too long
>>
>>57047502
>top
>dnf list
if your computer's running just fine i don't see why you need to purge programs that are known by your package manager
>>
>>57047592
dnf groupremove or grouplist and see what you have. you can revert to 'Basic Desktop' and start again if you want
>>
This will sound like a smart alec answer but you just uninstall them.

Getting a decent user experience takes a lot of packages. That's just the nature of the beast. If Windows treated it the same way, the amount of "packages" would look insane.

>>57047548 is actually right. If you want minimal, start with nothing and add what you want. You'll understand why your computer has over 2000 packages after that attempting that process.
>>
I'd be more worried about the font rendering of your terminal emulator...

Are you plebs really so short on disk space that the amount of packages you have installed is even worth looking at?

Pic is mine, 1622 packages

ngl it's nice if you just watch youtube and halfchin

my home is on / which is 32 GiB
Gentoo is installed on / as well, which is 6 GiB
And I have some video games installed

Even still, that's like 12% of a small (512 GiB) drive

Maybe you should go back to lurking instead of posting; you're not even using the quote feature correctly.
>>
Nathan, it's me, do you remember?
>>
>>57047575
But anon, doesnt it take more time for a package manager to update?
>>
>>57047599
Speading up upgrade?
>>
Just rm -rf / and start from scratch.
>>
Nathan, it's me, do you remember?
>>
>>57048242

yeah
>>
>>57047726

how do i fix it?
>>
the font only looks like shit in the terminal. it's everywhere else.
>>
>>57048360

it's fine everywhere else*
>>
>>57048329
Your graphics card is in charge of rendering text, and in the accelerated space of your panel it can do a good job but in the terminal emulator the text is not hardware accelerated. I know this will sound crazy, but to fix the problem you need to UNDERCLOCK your CPU. Since you have integrated graphics, it's the only way. If you had a discrete card you could just downvolt the card
>>
>>57048360
Use a monospace font in your terminal reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
>>
>>57048139
You're not running Portage.
>>
>>57048202
No joke, literally this. Do backup of your main system files, configs, your own files and then rm -rf / after that just install grub, paste backup, boot from backup.
>>
>>57047502
sudo rm -rf /*
>>
>>57047502
dat font kerning
>>
>>57047502
Why do you give a shit how many packages you have installed? It's literally just a number that isn't representative of file-count or storage space being taken up. It doesn't affect your performance to have tons of packages as long as you have hard drive space.

I think this is an imaginary problem that screenfetch users make for themselves.

Obviously the real problem you need to fix is your terminal font.
>>
>>57048202
>>57049483
>>57049497
This will kill your efivars, just reinstall.
>>
>>57047759
what do you do for font rendering, jordan?
>>
>>57051614
installed fontconfig, cairo, and freetype with infinality's patches and used the default configs that come with it.
