I want to learn a programming language. Is C++ a bad language

Way more jobs for Java/Python programmers. C++ is fine if you don't care about money or job security, or if you wanna make video games.

It's the new fortran. If you are a physicist, be prepared to be stuck with it for the next 50 years. Fucking ROOT and GEANT4.

IMO first learn C, then learn C++.

Not that guy, but it might mean something if it's from an ivy league school that has lots of real world projects.

That being said, I "learned" C++ before C. "Learned" because C++ is complex to the point that not even Bjarne knows it. I haven't used C++ for a long ass time now, use C every day.

It really doesn't matter to be honest. If you just want to learn programming, go for Python.
