Hey, /g/, I'm looking to install Linux and I really like the layout/look of Arch. However I'm not too skilled with Linux quite yet and the install proved too difficult for me. Any good alternatives?

The look has nothing to do with the distro newfag. Linux distros are like dolls that you dress with clothes (DEs), and then you just look at them because you can't do shit with them.

You're coming in with the Windows mindset that OS = desktop. On Linux your DE (desktop environment) is just another program choice like your browser or torrent client is.
You should research what you specifically liked in the screenshots you saw.

Doesn't work how you think it does. You like whatever DE you see. Find out what it is and install it on an easier to install distro. Arch is not for beginners and don't let someone ITT try to fool you in to thinking it is.

Arch is Gentoo for babbys.

The only difference between distributions are the people who maintain the distribution and package management (if any). The one good thing about Arch is that it is a bare bones distribution, meaning you have a foundation to build on and not much else. Since, you don't understand the "layout" isn't Arch's you should probably do some more reading up on window managers and desktop environments.
