You want to disable the backlight..? Did you ever think of turning it down? Adjusting the settings? Or just getting those stupid yellow glasses? You could probably just open your monitor and cut the wire that powers the backlight, desu.

Not op, but my tvs backlight controll is shit. If it didnt cost over a grand Id cut a hole in the side to add a pot to control the backlight better than the menu allows.

Let us know how this works out op

If the lcd in question does not have a reflective sheet in it already its going to be almost impossible to see the display without backlighting.
