>he uses a file manager
LOL dont you know that shell builtins can handle everything a graphical file manager can do? do you really need to click buttons?
I like thumbnails

How do i list sort folders by size in terminal?
du -hs lists them but they are not by ordered by size
>>57026246
check out ncdu
Porn.

>>57026246
You can also do du -hs|sort -h if you don't want to install additional suff
>>57023219
Just try to fucking move a batch of files in the shell, it takes 2 seconds in a GUI and fucking forever in a shell unless you're moving the entire folder.
>>57029908
mv *.mkv ~/Videos/Anime
>>57030101
Are you fucking illiterate?
The point isn't to move all files following a similar name or pattern. The point is that, with a file manager, you can select specific files that are completely unrelated to each other and manage them easily, faster than the terminal.
>>57030246
mv $(ls -tr | tail -n 3) ~/Videos/Anime
>>57030246ls -A | cat -n | sed -n -e /###/p -e /###/p | awk '{print "mv "$2" /path/to/anime/"$2}' | sh
replace the "###" in the sed command with whichever numbers from "ls -A | cat -n" that you want.
>>57030563
You'll only move the three last files you downloaded, it's not really relevent.
>>57030642
Okay I'm sold, but desu you need to alias that if you want to be efficient.
>>57030642
What about if you need to move large groups of files, that aren't continuous?
It's still faster to shift+click then ctrl+click the isolated ones than using alias bash scripts
when will gahnoo loonix get thumbnails?
>>57023219
maximum autism
>>57033020
Definitely alias it, and clean it up a little. I didn't put a lot of effort into making it efficient.
>>57033060
replace ### with [#-#][#-#] or whatever. Its not hard.
>>57033067
When Windows get webm thumbnails :)
>>57033147ls -A | cat -n | sed -n - e [0-120][125][127][128-133][135][137] | blah blah blah
Including all the time required to find the exact files you want to move and then writing down their numbers
As opposed to
>click
>scroll scroll
>shift+click
>ctrl+clickx2
>ctrl+shift+click
>ctrl+clickx2
Moving shit around in the shell is great for a lot of reasons but it's garbage for specific batch moves
>>57033166
but my webms already have thumbnails
>>57033183
>Looking at a list in a terminal emulator is harder then looking at a list in a file manager
>>57033166
>>57033232
the key difference is that the file manager is entirely visual, you just click the file when you see it
As opposed to the shell where you have to then type in the numbers you see
It's a small difference but a readily tedious one
>>57023920
Having to click through 10 folders just to get to the directory instead of using oh my zsh and typing /fu/ck/yo/u/ and hitting tab to expand the directory
