What is your favorite version of windows and why? there are no wrong answers.

7 is the only aryan answer
>>57020223
Server 2012 is the only right answer.
xp
because it's the only one i've used
>>57020259
As a pure blood aryan I say go fuck yourself. Vista had the most aesthetic ui, but xp was the best.
Windows 10. I'm a voyeur. I get off on the thought of some chump at Microbotnet watching me watch porn.

Windows 2000 Professional Master race
xp sp2, it was pretty terrible before that but then got really good.
Windows 98 tbqh
It was the last one I've used
>>57020223
98 was pretty comfy
XP master race. Everything that came later is bloated shit.
>>57020287
This is the one and only correct answer because it is the one and only half-decent version of Microsoft Windows. No NT4 and before poorly coded shit, no 9x DOS insability, and no XP and onwards bloat and forced activation bullshit.
>>57020223
3.11
Windows 8?
>>57020223
Vista was god-tier. Could run that shit for literal years without shutdown and it wouldn't freak the fuck out like other versions do.
Windows XP was great after SP2. Fine balance between stability and utility that NT6 didn't do right at all until Windows 7 came about.
Win2k lacked useful general consumer platform support that didn't really come around for NT until WinXP was released. So driver support was fairly hit or miss outside the business environment for a few years. It also lacked the much better multiprocessor support WinXP brought about (limited to 2 logical CPU's) and I don't think it even supported PAE.
It was also an unstable pile of dicks until SP4 came about, at which point people were used to scavenging for drivers and working around software warnings about platform support and just assumed it always was as good as it is today.

yes there are

Agree, it was also the only decent looking one that was 100% cohesive and consistent. XP, Vista+ were all more haphazard/inconsistent with different icons/UIs depending on program.
2000 was really the greatest Windows. Clean, professional UI, full NT stability, good software compatibility (excluded older games that needed proper dos), plus none of the stupid bloat that came in later Windows versions.

I started with 98SE. It was ok. Then I went to XP which was amazing. I then went to 7 and by the time I tried Vista in a VM it just wasn't as good as 7. I updated to 8.1 which was good except for the horrible start menu. Forced upgrade to 10 pissed me off. Windows 10 was packed with all kinds of candy crush and minecraft shit for kids. At this point OS X is more professional. I'm back on Windows 7 now.
Windows 2k.
And it will always be.

I bought an ASUS laptop with Vista on it and i thought it was really really comfy. I loved all the aero glass. I will never understand the hate it got compared to this Win10 assault....

Windows 95 wasn't bad for its time though.

i don't think there's been a version of windows with as few glitches, quirks, or instabilities
it was rock fucking solid, no nonsense, and absolutely functional
xp was a mistake in direction
Windows 8.1 is my favorite. 7 is great too, I have that on my T420. I tried to like 10 but I always go back to 8.1 every time I try it.
