What does /g/ recommend for my next phone?

I'm upgrading on Thursday and I was gonna get the new note but now that Samsung phones are exploding that's not really an option for me anymore. Btw I'm on verizon

Pixel is a horrible option. No micro SD slot, no OIS, no removable battery, low res screen, small capacity battery.

Why would you consider it at all? Man just get the V20. I honestly think it's the best phone out there in terms of useful features.
