Help. I have two router-looking things in my living room, they're both connected and one of them has a plugged in telephone cable or something like that
When I disconnect one of them the internet stops working
I tried plugging the ethernet cable in every single port and it's not working

All you really need to do is plug an ethernet cable into your pc and the other in the router.
Now one of those two "router looking thingies" is your gateway. Plug the cable into one of four LAN ports.

Install Gentoo.

I tried that and it didn't work. Also they're connected to each other through the fourth port.

Plug the ethernet cable into the one router that you said had the phone cable sticking out of it. If nothing happens you need to go into your adapter settings in windows, go to properties for the NIC and configure ipv4.

Also post pic of setup

Thanks anon

Is it working?
>>57000690
I'm looking around the settings trying to "configure ipv4"

I got u pham. Open network sharing center, go to change adapter settings, find the one that says "ethernet", right click properties, scroll down to internet protocol version 4, check the box if need to, double click on IPv4, and check the "obtain IP address automatically" and obtain dns server automatically.

When I opened it it was already checked.

>did you try plugging the router out and back in again?

A couple of times.

We're gonna do this. It would help if you could post pics of your hardware, no homo

Left box is your modem. That's actually what connects to the internet.
Right box is your router. That's the thing that masks everything connected to it behind NAT and then sends it out through the modem.
Run a cable from the router to your computer.
