I can't get Windows 7 to install from a USB. Whenever I try it takes years to get to the mobo splash screen, and then nothing happens after except a "black screen" (the screen you get when the monitor is active.)
What the fuck do I do? It's a newer high-end MSI board and the OS is stolen.

I've already looked through Google results and the sticky, that's why I want to know if anyone has had issues with MSI boards.
I don't think it's fried because everything seems to be working, no hardware beeps or clicks.

Did you patch your .iso with the msi tool?
Have you just tried installing it by DVD drive? That worked for me, and i didn't have to keep the dvd drive installed, just used it once.

If it's similar to the problem I had before you have the usb booting from the wrong thing.
The usb should be listed twice, you need to boot from the second one
>newer high end msi board
is there a legacy boot?/non uefi? you must switch from uefi to legacy bios to install m8.
Install Gentoo

#1: Can you get past the Mobo Splash Screen at all? Unplug everything unnecessary, Leave the CPU+fan, 1 stick of RAM, use onboard video, keyboard, Disconnect everything else. Video card, HDDs/SSDs/USB/Disc Drive, etc.
#2: Use stock parts, and swap out the RAM stick if you can't get the mobo to boot into the BIOS/UEFI. The point of using stock parts is to make sure your mobo isn't being shorted out by a bad CPU cooler back plate.
#3: if you can't get to BIOS/UEFI at all, you're fucked. RMA.
#4: If you can boot to UEFI/BIOS, try using a different USB drive and a different method of writing Windows 7 to it. The drive has to be made bootable. Something like iso-to-usb can work for that, if the wiwndows 7 you have is in ISO form.

You didn't read the sticky. /g/ is NOT your personal tech support, and anyone here who helps you for something like this only pushes further the belief that we are.
