Tell me /g/ what are the best gaming laptops for students which are lightweight that you can use on-the-go and for study but also have great gaming power.

>gaming laptop
I know an oxymoron when I see one.
>I want the best of the best
Let me guess, with a budget of about 350 dollars?

Preferably under £900 or there about
>>56999315
get something with a gtx 1060 or at least a 970
asus, msi and dell are the to go brands
don't buy lenovo or acer gaming laptop
>>56999315
A cheapo 13-15inch laptop, any will do for studies, and a desktop for gaming.
"Gaming laptops" are retarded, overheating and battery eating shit that won't live up to a proper computer anyway in gaming performance.
>Lightweight
>best(not windows)
>gaming
not possible

You'll want to go with a Dell XPS 13 or one of the Razer laptops. They're the best build quality and specs for the price. Additionally, they're mobile and light for students.

>good
>lightweight
>gaming laptop
I think you are confused, friend.
any laptops above £350 will play most PC games on low settings with acceptable framerate, and buy AMD parts to save money
or, buy a wii and a portable monitor for games, and then mod it so you can boot into linux for study work for about half that price
buy cheap used thinkpad (lurk thinkpad general) and for the rest of budged buy gaming computer
Going to highjack OP's shitshow for a moment. Has anyone seen the gigabyte p35xv6? I'm considering this or a w series lenovo for cad/pipeline work. I don't game but I need to run unreal udk and zbrush, should be good with a 1070 from what I understand. Anyone have experience with gigabyte? I know lenovo is okay.

Sager/Clevo.
Build one from PCspecialist.co.uk or similar websites.
>>56999315
Just get a pos refurbished laptop and play age of empires 2 or alpha centauri.
save your money for a gaming desktop. a average desktop build can knock the socks off a "gaming laptop"

The only thing wrong with gigabyte is those thicc bezzels.
Otherwise they have a pretty based hardware platforms.

That touch pad looks like cancer. I personally hate the pads with the buttons underneath the touch pad panel.
And if they used a shitty material for the surface, it will be inaccurate as hell.
Disregard if you're going to use a mouse 100% with it.

Buy a Xiaomi Mi Air Notebook from Geek buying. Light for travel and good for gaming at 1080p medium to low settings. If u want more horsepower, then get a Razer Blade 2016.

if you can handle gaming at lower resolutions and lower setting you have a lot of options. shit, buy the cheapest dell inspiron gaming laptop and you'll be ok. you can probably play games natively with nice graphics. ultra graphics are a placebo especially since most modern games are trash and you'll still have a better computer than mac fags
you cant listen to people on /g/ most of the time because they are either spoiled children or insane autists who never leave their safe spaces.
