The privacy thing, I don't think it's solvable.
Overpopulation, and it's solved through a global one-child policy.
In terms of technology, dump all money into strong AI development and let the resulting intelligence clean up the mess we made.

Literally impossible with dragnet surveillance enacted. It's not in the interest of govs to reign in NSA & co. so don't bank on it

>he actually thinks "global warming" is causing mass migrations

Problem: Global warming will make life on Earth miserable (if not impossible- not sure, am not a scientist, just read a lot).
Technology's solution: Leave Earth. Inhabit Mars. Embrace the reality that after 1000s of generations on Mars we will have H. Sapiens and something else. I call dibs on the name: H. Martia
Problem: Old technologies like money and governments still being used thousands of years later. Time to update.
Technology's solution: Automation. Replace all or most jobs with automated systems. Leave work for robots, creative thinking to humans. We don't need to struggle to survive anymore. Let's make the world reflect that fact.

Overpopulation and global warming will drive all of the other problems: mass migrations, regional conflicts, civil unrest, extremes of weather, shrinking human habitat, and the seventh mass extinction which is already underway. The second golden age of human civilization is rapidly disintegrating, folks. Interesting times.
