They have the same typing surface areas as raised trapezoidal keys. You have to be autistic to give a fuck how the space in between the keycaps look.

It's apple's fault. after they came out with a chicklet keyboard, everyone copied them (as usual). and now there's only that style.

personally, I love apple's keyboard, pic related, and use it under Linux. it's better than any KB with MX switches to me because it's low to the desk.

The way keys on desktop keyboards are shaped means the actual tops of them have just as much spacing between them, if not more, than a shallow laptop chicklet keyboard.
